Türk Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Birliği Derneği (TOTBİD) Başkanı Prof. Dr. Cem Nuri Aktekin, son günlerde halk arasında ‘sıvı diz protezi’ diye bir tabirin hızla yayıldığını dile getirerek, “Böyle bir tabir asla doğru değildir. Yanlış olarak bu şekilde ifade edilen işlem, aslında diz eklemi içine uygulanan bir enjeksiyon işlemidir. Sıvı diz protezi diye bir şey söz konusu değildir. Diz protezi ise diz ekleminin ileri derecede kireçlenme durumlarında kalıcı olarak dize uygulanan metal iki implant ve arasında sürtünmeyi azaltmak için kullanılan polietilen denilen yine sert bir implant uygulama işlemidir” dedi.(İHA)
